Core Privacy Commitment

Emotion-Adaptive Focus Mode (“the Extension”) is a Chrome browser extension designed to provide user-controlled focus-support interventions while browsing.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles information. All processing occurs locally within your browser environment to safeguard your privacy at all times.

1. Information Processed by the Extension

When the user voluntarily enables monitoring and grants camera permission, the Extension temporarily processes webcam frames in the browser to perform facial-expression analysis.

The Extension also processes browser interaction signals, including:

  • Mouse movement and mouse speed
  • Mouse jitter
  • Click activity
  • Scrolling activity
  • Tab-change activity

Purpose Limitation: These signals are used only to provide the Extension’s focus-support functionality and adaptive modes.

2. Local Processing

Facial-expression analysis is performed locally in the user’s browser using locally packaged TensorFlow.js and machine-learning model files.

Zero Cloud Transmission

The Extension does not send webcam frames, facial images, video recordings, emotion-analysis results, or behavioural signals to an external server.

Raw webcam frames are processed temporarily in memory (volatile RAM) and discarded immediately after analysis. They are not permanently stored anywhere on disk or remote servers.

3. Local Storage

The Extension may store the following information locally on the user’s device through browser storage technologies, including chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB:

  • User preferences and settings
  • Monitoring status
  • Selected adaptive mode
  • Derived emotion indicators
  • Local usage statistics

This information remains on the user’s device and is used only for the Extension’s functionality. It is not sold, shared, or transferred to third parties.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

The Extension does NOT collect, store, sell, or transmit:

Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or identification numbers
Passwords, authentication credentials, or payment information
Personal communications, such as emails, messages, or chat content
Location data
Website text, form data, passwords, or webpage content
Browsing history for advertising, profiling, or third-party purposes
Permanent webcam images or video recordings
5. Camera Permission and User Control

Camera access is requested only when the user chooses to enable monitoring. The user can stop or disable monitoring at any time through the Extension interface or Chrome’s permission settings.

Permission Behavior: If camera permission is not granted, camera-based facial-expression monitoring does not operate.

6. Third-Party Sharing and Advertising
The Extension does not sell user data.
The Extension does not transfer user data to third parties.
The Extension does not use user data for advertising, marketing, creditworthiness, lending, insurance, employment monitoring, or any purpose unrelated to providing its focus-support functionality.
7. Data Security

All processing and storage are designed to occur locally within the user’s browser. The Extension does not use an external emotion-processing server.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Extension is not intended for children under the age of 18. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the Extension changes. Any updated version will be published at this same public URL (/privacy).

10. Contact & Privacy Inquiries

The Extension operates 100% locally on your device and does not transmit, collect, or store personal data on any external server.

Self-Contained Edge ProcessingBecause no user data ever leaves your browser environment, no remote accounts, external servers, or data deletion requests are required.
